Christina // Ojai, California
Let me just begin by saying California has it pretty good - from the landscape to the people - my work was too easy for me out there. My trip with Christina to Ojai was no exception. It's pretty amazing what can happen when you just let your guard down and do things that scare you - I typically end up finding that it is in those moments that I feel refreshed and ready to try new things and experiment with personal projects.
I met Christina through Breann, and was so thankful for the opportunity to explore new places with her. We came across a little park that reminded me of something I'd find in northern Illinois - at which point she said that she LOVED it. As someone who was a California native, I found it so interesting when she explained that she hated palm trees. My jaw dropped and I was like, "WHAT - WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS."
This was one of my first set of photos after having gone to the amazing FOSTER workshop in a secluded mountain town north of Los Angeles surround by like-minded, super talented creatives. The light haze that you see in some of the photos below was created with a piece of broken glass that I literally picked up off the side of the road during the session.
Time shared with people like Christina makes me so happy, and I'm so excited to see what 2015 has in store. I'm already looking at flights to head back out to this amazing state this year and I'd love to meet up with you if you are lucky enough to call California 'home.' :)
